Mission Statement: Our Parish is a Christ-centred community. In Baptism we are challenged by the Spirit to live and share the Gospel message. Through proclaiming the Gospel message to all, Growth in Faith, Liturgy, Justice Issues and
Ecumenism we extend our love and care to all people providing support in renewing and deepening our faith. We value the gifts and talents of each of our Parishioners and invite them to use these in responding to Christ's invitation to all of us to follow Him and spread the Good News to the whole world.

St. John the Baptist Church and Pastoral Centre:  as you know lead was stolen from both buildings.  Following discussion with the Parish Insurers we are now able to
replace the lead - albeit with a substitute material that will do the same job but is worthless to wouldbe thieves.  Moss Construction will undertake the work which will begin soon and take a few weeks.  They will be using scaffolding.  Parishioners and visitors to the Church and Centre (both will remain open during this work) are asked to adhere and follow safety directions where advised.

Congratulations to the Armagh Ladies Intermediate team who won the All Ireland last Sunday.

Costing no less than everything

Sometimes love costs no less than

Parents know this
in bringing up children in love;
and then it costs a lot to let them go,
as they make their way through life,
finding their own feet,
forming their own families.

And the love of God opens the door
to people who are poor;
if we fail to recognise the poor in our world
we are missing God.

And we know that a passion for wealth
can close us off from other people
as we fail to see their needs
and get into competition with them.
The call of the Lord is
to give of ourselves for others,
even when it hurts;
and into a love which shares
with those who are poor.
His love calls us
and when we live in this love
of giving and receiving,
we are the most blessed of people.
