Bulletin for 14th & 21st July

PARISH OF DRUMCREE

Mission Statement: Our Parish is a Christ-centred community. In Baptism we are challenged by the Spirit to live and share the Gospel message. Through proclaiming the Gospel message to all, Growth in Faith, Liturgy, Justice Issues and Ecumenism we extend our love and care to all people providing support in renewing and deepening our faith. We value the gifts and talents of each of our Parishioners and invite them to use these in responding to Christ’s invitation to all of us to follow Him and spread the Good News to the whole world.

Reflection

A person of peace

To bring peace among people
is one of life’s greatest gifts.

People who are peacemakers
are the sons and daughters of God,
for they share in one of the biggest desires of God:
peace in the world,
peace in the community, the neighbourhood,
peace in the parish, and in the country,
peace in the heart of everyone.

To bring peace
we need to be at peace ourselves;

and the person of peace
is a person who knows his or her place,
and knows God’s place in the world.

To be a person of peace
is to know that others have rights,
and that others have problems
that make them act the way they do,
and the person of peace
brings understanding and compassion
to the problems of  others.

To be a person of peace
is to know that much in life
is outside our control.
We cannot turn back the sea
nor change the time of sunset,
and neither can we control the lives of others.

To be a person os peace
is to be engaged each day
in love and care
with the God of peace.

May we be instruments of God’s
peace,
for through each of us comes God’s gift of peace for all.
