19th May 2013 - Pentecost Sunday

PARISH OF DRUMCREE

Mission Statement: Our Parish is a Christ-centred community. In Baptism we are
challenged by the Spirit to live and share the Gospel message. Through proclaiming the Gospel message to all, Growth in Faith, Liturgy, Justice Issues and Ecumenism we extend our love and care to all people providing support in renewing and deepening our faith. We value the gifts and talents of each of our Parishioners and invite them to use these in responding to Christ’s invitation to all of us to follow Him and spread the Good News to the whole world.

Cemetery Sunday 11.30 a.m. Mass, 2nd June. Visitors are usually impressed with our cemetery and how it is kept. This is a sign of our love for those who have died and an expression of our Faith in the Resurrection. However, some parishioners and visitors have recently expressed dismay at some, who having cleaned up graves, leave debris around the cemetery. Please take debris home and dispose of it properly. Thank you.

Reflection
Renew - refresh

Holy Spirit,
refresh the face of the earth;
refresh like the cool wind through humid air,
refresh like cooling rain in stagnant water,
refresh like greenery in the burnt desert -
and refresh tired hopes,
dull love,
broken trust,
with gentle confidence
with new visions of each other,
with a belief in goodness,
refresh and renew us.

Refresh our countries,
with compassion in politics,
with peace based on justice,
with respect for the dignity of all
and a genuine care for those in need,
and policies to end inequality.

Refresh families with tolerance,
communities with openness,
whole neighbourhoods with
involvement;

Refresh our prayer with your love,
our sorrow with your forgiveness,
our generosity with your call.

Refresh us,
renew us,
renew the face of the earth.

The JOY rule
Think of Jesus
Think of Others
Think of You
