PARISH OF DRUMCREE
Mission Statement: Our Parish is a Christ-centred community. In Baptism we are
challenged by the Spirit to live and share the Gospel message. Through proclaiming the Gospel message to all, Growth in Faith, Liturgy, Justice Issues and Ecumenism we extend our love and care to all people providing support in renewing and deepening our faith. We value the gifts and talents of each of our Parishioners and invite them to use these in responding to Christ’s invitation to all of us to follow Him and spread the Good News to the whole world.

Reflection

Another chance

Jesus told a story about
someone coming to a fig tree
and looking for fruit
and wanting it cut down because it was
barren.
But he was persuaded to give it another
chance.

Jesus liked that story
because he’s the person of another chance.

With his friends
there was always the chance
to turn around,
become whole again
and follow him anew,
even after denial and cowardice.

He looks ahead of us
on our path of life
and sees a new way,
another chance out of failure,
a new conversion from sin.

Our book of life is never closed for
Jesus,
out disk of life is never full,
the song of our life is never sung out.

We are not programmed like on a
computer,
nor is our life’s plan pressed on a
compact disc.
We are people who can always change,
become strong again, walk confident,
hand-in-hand with God.

As Jesus sees us as people who may
change and grow,
may we see others in the same light.

Prayer for the Church

O Lord Jesus Christ, Supreme Pastor of Your Church,
we thank you for the ministry of Pope Benedict XVI
and the Selfless care with which he has led us
as Successor of Peter, and your Vicar on earth.

Good Shepherd, who founded Your Church
on the rock of Peter’s faith
and have never left Your flock untended,
look with love upon us now,
and sustain Your Church in faith, hope and charity.

Grant, Lord Jesus, in Your boundless love for us,
a new Pope for Your Church
who will please You by his holiness
and lead us faithfully to You,
who are the same yesterday, today and forever.
