PARISH OF DRUMCREE
Mission Statement: Our Parish is a Christ-centred community. In Baptism we are challenged by the Spirit to live and share the Gospel message. Through proclaiming the Gospel message to all, Growth in Faith, Liturgy, Justice Issues and
Ecumenism we extend our love and care to all people providing support in renewing and deepening our faith. We value the gifts and talents of each of our Parishioners and invite them to use these in responding to Christ's invitation to all of us to follow Him and spread the Good News to the whole world.

"Come and See" Jn 1:39   To welcome in the Year of Faith, the Armagh Archdiocese, led by the Diocesan Commissions, is holding a Diocese-wide campaign, asking regular Churchgoers to invite a friend or relative to come to the celebration of Mass, on the First Sunday of Advent, 2 December. People who drop out of Churchgoing may have simply got out of the habit. They may have moved or had a change in life circumstances and drifted away. Quite often, life has become too busy. Come and See Sunday is a special day set aside when people who do not regularly attend Church are invited and welcomed to a Church near them by a friend or relative. This Parish has normally done this on the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord in January.

ST. JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH CAR PARK

Reflection

Not to be served, but to serve

What we remember most in anyone's life
is not so much what they achieved,
but the love in which they lived.

Jesus himself is remembered more for
his death
out of love for all his people
than for any great achievements.

He wrote no music or symphony,
but shared the song of God's love;
he painted no great masterpiece,
but showed us we are all God's work of art;
wrote no great book,
but his words of comfort and love
resound through all our joys and sorrows.

He has shown us what the Son of Man is capable of
when he lives in the shadows and light of God;
and he has shown us what every man and woman
can be guided towards.

Sitting at the right and the left of Jesus -
that's language he doesn't go for.
To live and grow, to suffer and struggle
in love of self and others,
is the way to glory in the sight of God,
and this is the only glory worth our
effort.
