PARISH OF DRUMCREE
Mission Statement: Our Parish is a Christ-centred community. In Baptism we are challenged by the Spirit to live and share the Gospel message. Through proclaiming the Gospel message to all, Growth in Faith, Liturgy, Justice Issues and
Ecumenism we extend our love and care to all people providing support in renewing and deepening our faith. We value the gifts and talents of each of our Parishioners and invite them to use these in responding to Christ's invitation to all of us to follow Him and spread the Good News to the whole world.

A thank you from Fr. Brian

It is with a humbled heart that I write my sincerest thanks to
Fr O'Dwyer, and to you, the Parishioners of Drumcree Parish.
Your generosity and expressions of appreciation since the news of my being changed to the Parish of Haggardstown and
Blackrock, and since, have truly overwhelmed me.
It was so nice to be back last week and to see all the familiar faces. I thank all the groups that made presentations to me and to the Parish as a whole for its generosity and kindness.
So many of you sent card and best wishes as I was leaving and I thank you sincerely for your kindness and compassion at the
difficult time of transition. If I did not see you to thank you
personally I am sorry but please be assured that all of you will be in my thoughts and prayers. This week I go to the Holy Land on pilgrimage and my first Mass on that holy soil will be offered up for the Parish and People of Drumcree.
As I said before, my departure was not a goodbye but a `fare well' and it is with sincerity that I say if you are passing this way please do call in to say hello,

With thanks and true appreciation,

Fr Brian White.

Reflection

Justice for his chosen ones

Anything done in the cause of justice
and in the name of Jesus Christ
will bear fruit in plenty.

Our world suffers much injustice
and our heart pains
when we hear of homeless children,
when we see lines of refugees on our screens,
when we pass someone destitute looking for money,
and our heart pains with something of the pain of Jesus.

We wonder what one person can do?

The call of Jesus spurs us on:
to know that what we do is
one person's effort to
make a more just society,
feed some people who need our help,
educate more widely and care for the sick,
and look after the chosen ones of God.

The path towards justice is
blocked with obstacles of
greed, self-interest, lack of care
and we want to plant that path
with generosity, compassion and care.

For the Lord looks on us
and at the needs of his people
and wants there to be faith on earth.

If our faith is without care for the needy
it is a watered-down faith and is
incomplete.

In the strengthening of our desires and work
for the justice of Jesus
our faith in Jesus grows and is
 strengthened.
