PARISH OF DRUMCREE
Mission Statement: Our Parish is a Christ-centred community. In Baptism we are challenged by the Spirit to live and share the Gospel message. Through proclaiming the Gospel message to all, Growth in Faith, Liturgy, Justice Issues and
Ecumenism we extend our love and care to all people providing support in renewing and deepening our faith. We value the gifts and talents of each of our Parishioners and invite them to use these in responding to Christ’s invitation to all of us to follow Him and spread the Good News to the whole world.

Reflection

God loves you at your weakest

A saint once said,
looking back over his life,
‘God loves you most when you love
 yourself  least.’

Jesus took his dinner with all sorts of people;
people who were looked down on by
 others,
like Matthew in today’s gospel.
And Matthew wasn’t the first like that
whom he associated with.
Jesus seems to be at his best
when he’s with people at their worst.

Like when you watch your child trying to walk and falling,
or a boy or girl in school really
trying to learn something,
your heart goes out to them in their efforts,
and you really love them at that moment,
when they seem weakest, most
vulnerable,
and they think they’re inadequate.

When you’re down, you seel God is down on you
when you are giving out to
yourself, you think God is doing the same;
When you feel empty inside, you think God is far away.

Like he’s present in this small piece of bread at Mass,
he’s present to you at the best and the worst of times.
Trust him;
be really present to him
as he’s really present to you,
in Eucharist,
in love,
in every moment of every day.
