The College of Cardinals elected Cardinal Robert Prevost as the 267th Pope on Thursday 8th May (Anniversary of the Apparition of St Michael in 492 on Mount Gargano).

He has taken the name Pope Leo XIV.

Let us pray through the intercession of St Joseph for the new Pope and the Church Universal in these days:

O glorious Saint Joseph, you who are the protector of the Universal Church, we beseech you to look with favour upon our Church, which is the household of God, purchased by the blood of Christ. Grant us your powerful intercession to strengthen the Holy Father, to guide the bishops, and to inspire the priests in their holy ministry. May the faithful be united in faith and love, and may the Church flourish in holiness and virtue, growing in the number and zeal of its children, so that the world may know that Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life, through His Beloved Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
