2016 Ordinations

This year, our Archdiocese has one man being ordained to the Diaconate and one man being ordained to the Priesthood.

Barry Matthews, from Dundalk, will be ordained to the Diaconate in St Patricks College, Maynooth on Sunday 29th May. We pray for him and his classmates at this time.

We also remember Rev. Mr Damien Quigley, who will be ordained to the Priesthood on Sunday 26th June in Holy Redeemer Church, Dundalk.

Damien, from the Parish of the Holy Redeemer, Dundalk, joined St Patrick’s College, Maynooth, in 2010.

A former student of Coláiste Rís (Dundalk), Damien studied in both Dundalk IT and Queen’s University where he graduated with a degree in science.

He then went on to work for Tesco for 12 years where he reached a senior management position, overseeing a number of stores in the South Dublin area.

A love of the church prompted Damien to seek entry to study for the Priesthood. We pray for Damien in preparation for this momentous day.
