PARISH OF DRUMCREE
Mission Statement: Our Parish is a Christ-centred community. In Baptism we are challenged by the Spirit to live and share the Gospel message. Through proclaiming the Gospel message to all, Growth in Faith, Liturgy, Justice Issues and
Ecumenism we extend our love and care to all people providing support in renewing and deepening our faith. We value the gifts and talents of each of our Parishioners and invite them to use these in responding to Christ's invitation to all of us to follow Him and spread the Good News to the whole world.

Reflection

I am the vine, you are the branches

I am the river, you are the water,
I am the mountain, you are the soil,
I am the love, you are the touch,
I am the mother, you are the child,
I am the fragrance, you are the rose;
we belong with him, and in him.

There is no river without water,
no mountain without soil,
no love without touch,
no mother without child,
no fragrance without a flower;

The risen Lord,
faithful promise of God to all of us,
is the source of all life.

May we be grateful for the gift of life.

The risen Lord is the source of all love;
may we be grateful for the gift of love

It is a continuous gift:
the vine gives life to the branches,
the river gives direction to the water,
the touch gives the comfort of love,
the soil is enriched by the mountain,
the rose is made sweet by the fragrance.

I am the vine, you are the branches.

What is a Eucharistic Congress? It is an international gathering of people which aims to promote awareness of the central place of the
Eucharist in the life and mission of the Catholic Church; improve our
understanding and celebration of the liturgy; draw attention to the social dimension of the Eucharist (i.e. the responsibility which we have to live in the spirit of communion and self-gift that we celebrate).
The first Congress was held in Lille, France in 1881. The theme this year is `The Eucharist: Communion with Christ and one another.' The 1932 Congress was the 31st and this year marks the 50th.
