PARISH OF DRUMCREE
Mission Statement: Our Parish is a Christ-centred community. In Baptism we are challenged by the Spirit to live and share the Gospel message. Through proclaiming the Gospel message to all, Growth in Faith, Liturgy, Justice Issues and
Ecumenism we extend our love and care to all people providing support in renewing and deepening our faith. We value the gifts and talents of each of our Parishioners and invite them to use these in responding to Christ’s invitation to all of us to follow Him and spread the Good News to the whole world.

Reflection

Yes I have seen that He is the Chosen One of God

Did he look like that?
the man who queued up
to be baptised by John the Baptist?

Jesus of Nazareth,
a young man not unlike many others,
taking his place with sinners.

Like joining the line in a Penance Service,
or the crowd climbing a holy mountain for sins,
becoming one of the people
saying ‘I am a sinner’.

Jesus saying ‘I am one of you’.

And John sees more:
the man of bright vision in front of him
his cousin he knew from their holidays together,
is the Son of God,
the One who should be baptising.

Yes, I have seen that He is the Chosen One of God.

Can you see, in the faces of the people around you,
the chosen ones of God?
Because of Jesus
we are all chosen ones of God.

In Jesus we see, not just the young man of Nazareth,
but every man and woman of every place,
and see in each of them, the chosen one of God.
