PARISH OF DRUMCREE
Mission Statement: Our Parish is a Christ-centred community. In Baptism we are challenged by the Spirit to live and share the Gospel message. Through proclaiming the Gospel message to all, Growth in Faith, Liturgy, Justice Issues and
Ecumenism we extend our love and care to all people providing support in renewing and deepening our faith. We value the gifts and talents of each of our Parishioners and invite them to use these in responding to Christ's invitation to all of us to follow Him and spread the Good News to the whole world.

St. Patrick's Church in William Street was opened in 1835.  Since then a procession of thousands of pilgrims have made their way there to celebrate the Sacraments, especially the Mass, to attend Missions and Devotions, or to light a candle and spend a quiet moment in prayer before God.  Let us remember them all and the present day pilgrims who come to St. Patrick's to worship.  To mark 175 years there will be a celebration on Monday 13th September at 7 p.m. which Bishop Clifford will lead. All welcome and there will be refreshments in St Vincents Rooms afterwards. A display to mark the occasion can be viewed in the Church.

Fr. Brian White
As you read this Fr. Brian has left us to serve the People of God in Haggardstown and Blackrock.  We wish him farewell and pray for his well-fare.  We thank God for him and thank Fr. Brian for his commitment and work among us and for us, the People of God in Drumcree.  "Lord, may the Eucharist you have given us influence his thoughts and actions.  May your Spirit guide and direct him in your way" (from today's Prayer after Communion).
Fr. Brian's new address is 6 Ard na Mara, Blackrock, Dundalk, Co Louth.
To date no other priest has been appointed here - which only confirms what most of us think - that Fr. Brian is irreplaceable - but Cardinal Brady and his team of advisors is working on it.

Reflection

Lost and found

We can lose our way in life;
like when there's failure
and we don't believe in ourselves any more -
in an exam, in a job, promotion,
or feeling a failure as a parent, teacher,
or in whatever is our calling in life.

Loss, bereavement, deep disappointment,
and our faith may be wakeened.
We wonder is God really interested,
does he look for us,
search us out like the lost sheep?

Or lose in guilt, remore, shame
for what stings from the past?

We look for a light in the mist;
like walking home on a foggy night,
wondering will we ever find the way again?

Lost we are at times,
but never without
Jesus Christ,
the one who was lost himself
who suffered bereavement
and all that we suffer.

On the path of our lives,
from first to last moment,
we look on Jesus with thanks -
our guide on the journey
our song in the discord,
our light in the darkness.

Lost in confusion, sin, anxiety,
found in the mercy of the love of God.
