PARISH OF DRUMCREE
Mission Statement: Our Parish is a Christ-centred community. In Baptism we are challenged by the Spirit to live and share the Gospel message. Through proclaiming the Gospel message to all, Growth in Faith, Liturgy, Justice Issues and
Ecumenism we extend our love and care to all people providing support in renewing and deepening our faith. We value the gifts and talents of each of our Parishioners and invite them to use these in responding to Christ's invitation to all of us to follow Him and spread the Good News to the whole world.

The Presentation Sisters are celebrating a Year of Nano Nagle to mark the 225th anniversary of her death.  The year will extend from 24th December 2008 - 2009.  Throughout the year there will be many events in our own community and throughout the world where there are Presentation Sisters.  Hopefully the theme for the year, FAN INTO FLAME THE GIFT OF GOD, will allow this to be a year of Sabbath for all connected to Presentation Sisters when we can walk the soil of our ancestry, share the story of our many journeys, get in touch with the heart of who we are and allow the spirit to blow where she wills and birth the new in us and among us.  We will remember those who lived and died here in Portadown by remembering those whose
anniversaries occur each month of the year.  In
January we pray for Mother M. Aloysius Byrne and
Sr. M. Catherine Devine.

Reader Exchange - organised by Churches Together in Portadown: we welcome members of other Christian Churhes to Mass this weekend to mark the Week of Prayer for Church Unity

Reflection

Follow me

We follow Jesus, like the Twelve,
because we are drawn by him:
drawn and attracted by the way
this man Jesus
lives, speaks, suffers, dies and rises.

Something in him appeals;
maybe it's the wish to heal,
or his love for the poor,
or his forgiveness, so total,
or his desire to change the world,
or because he stands for what is good:
for justice, peace, equality.

Or just because he is a friend,
and because he is
the face of God,  the word of God,
the son of God.

Like us, in all but our sin,
one of us, son of God,
and son of Mary too.

People left a lot to follow him,
they left their dreams and their
burdens,
their families, and their
businesses,
and gave up their lives,
drawn, attracted, challenged
as we are now,
by his words:
Come, follow me.

Trust that these words draw you,
attract you,
trust that these words
are worth the whole love of your life,
for they are loving words of God.

These answered the call to `Follow me' and have feast days this week.
