SPRED is a Parish based group that gathers together to form a community of friendship and faith with other Parishioners who have special needs.

Group Aims – To Share the Faith

                         To Share Friendship

                         To Share the Word of God

Membership Criteria – Friends (formally known as friends with learning difficulties) must be approximately 10 Years Old to join the Group.

 

Dates/Venues of Meetings – Volunteer preparation takes place on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of each month. Total Community session takes place on the 2nd & 4th Wednesday of each month. Meetings held in Drumcree Community Centre (Ashgrove Road, Portadown)

 

Structure of Meetings – The group gathers to form a community of Friendship and faith with other parishioners who have special needs. The group meets fortnightly to share in fun activities and listen to the Word of God around a particular theme. The use of a symbol is central to the method. Meetings conclude with a friendship meal together. In the intervening weeks, volunteers meet to prepare the following week's session.
