Music
What a great website - fantatic wey to keep up with things in the parish. I was wondering if anyone else remembers the music groups that used to perform on the alter every so often in St Patricks, as a young person this would encourage me to go to mass and enjoy it as well. It would be fantastic to have something like this again, if only once a month. We have a lot of talented musicans and singers throughout the parish, and this would be a great opportunity for them to show their talents and get involved in the parish as well. Maybe encourage those within the parish who maybe have stopped attending mass return.

what about a holiday
Why not start to run parish trips abraod like Fr. Toal R.I.P.use to back in the 70s It would be a great way for those who dont like travelling on their own to join a large group. Any ideas of where and when to travel? I am sure we could force one of our Priests to join us.I know we have the annual pilgrimage to Lourdes but what about other areas combining both pilgrimage and holiday we could start working on it now for next year give people a chance to save.

TOGETHER AHEAD
Glad to read such positive thoughts from our young of the parish as you said it is always the minority who get the publicity, and as I said in my message yesterday we have a chance to reflect in the coming weeks and to show continuing support for the parish in an inclusive way lets unite in prayer and thoughts and thanks for what we have

A youth perspective
Just to say i feel that the website is an excellent way to communicate the good news of our parish both locally and over the world as Fr. White commented recently, i feel that the guestbook is an opportunity for parishoners to comment on the presentation and idea of the website, i do not feel this is the place to criticise young people as there are good young people within our parish community who do have respect for their and others deceased relatives and regarding elected members of the parish council and those asked to stand for election they were fair and very willing representatives and i hope the good work continues. Hopefully the sign up sunday initiative next weekend, groups will recruit new faces and then the same old faces will not have to do everything.
Next weekend in our week of prayer let us pray for one another and give thanks for our parish and the skills and talents of many people in our parish both hidden and known, for all this let us give thanks.

coming events
Maybe we need some time to reflect and the coming events organised by the parish will give us all the chance to renew ourselves and our committments to each other and our parish. Its good to see Nuala O Loan, back again a very humbling experience to listen to this woman talk. Maybe its time for us to stop speaking and to be still there is a lot to be had from the silence

I want to say thanks to the priests and parish council for giving parishoners the opportunity to express ideas for the new hall, it means a lot to other parishoners to express their ideas on important issues in the community. I feel as there is only 1 priest living in Obins steet parochial house, it is right to have another house as it is not practical for 1 priest living in a big house for 5 priests and it is a total waste of money maintaining and heating that house when you can have a more practical and smaller set-up. Keep up all the good work and the website is great.

positive parishoner
I agree with one thing it is a shame that St.Mary's Hall was so neglected in recent years, when i hear of so many good times that took place and memories that remain, however let us face reality it is a mess and it is good that something is actually being done about it after all these years, selling it. The selling of one hall will finance the rebuilding of a new hall, as i feel the priests and the parish pastoral council (members of which were elected by other parishoners) to represent parishoners views and opinions will continue to work for the good of the parish community, i wish all members along with Fr O Dwyer and Fr. White every continued success. I feel that the proposed building of a new parish hall is well situated as it is beside one of our churches and will be at the centre for the majority of the local community. And the parish doesn't begin or end on the Garvaghy road, it stretches a fair distance and i feel the hall would and should be better at the centre of the local parish community.

so sad to see this building in such a state of neglect...what will be done ...will it like Christ be sold to the reptiles who lie and wait on the sides to get the pickings surely not its the peoples hall and the people should decide not a elected few and not on a site to facilitate them there are others in the parish it doesnt start and end on the Garvaghy RoaD THEY HAVE TIR NA OG AND THE TWO COMMUNITY HALLS PLUS A PUB DO WE NEED AND MORE PROBLEMS IN THIS AREA ESPECIALLY NEAR A GRAVEYARD..THINK AGAIN AND WE CERTAINLY DONT NEED ANOTHER HOUSE THERE ARE THOSE LESS UNFORTUNATE WHO CANT GET ONE

Historic Event
Hearty congratulations; good to see the real 'Drumcree' being presented in a clear, simple and Christian light. This will give heart to 'exiles' like us, with deep roots in Drumcree Parish. Uplifting to see the original Church in all its former spendour being used to glorify God.
